WRC drivers are heroes. They drive small cars, packed with power over extremely narrow sections usually covered with gravel. And when you think that gravel covered roads are enough of a challenge, we have a chance to see something like this. Deer surging over the road in one big leap moment before a WRC driver passed the section.
Sebastian Ogier, driver of the #01 Fiesta WRC was focused enough to spot the deer on the soaked road and smash the brakes which saved the life of the little creature, but also, cut off a second or so from the Ogier pass.
Now, you can see why the WRC is so perilous. No fence to keep these intruders out, no drainage to keep the track as dry as possible, and no protective fence to keep the drivers alive if they fall over the edge with their small machines.
Now, we ask, how it comes that this kind of motorsport isn’t as popular as some other stuff!?
Nevertheless, the deer is alive, Ogier ready for the next race and Rally Deutschland proved to be as interesting and adventurous as any other WRC track out there.
This is one fast and lucky deer for sure.
