Even though we can find plenty of vehicles better suited to take on a new Panamera Turbo, this friendly race against its lighter and the sportier sibling, the 718 Boxster S, goes to show how different they really are.

While it is true that the Panamera Turbo is the lot heavier than the Boxster S, it is also got considerably more power and torque, being rated at 550 PS (542 horsepower) and 770 Nm (567 lb-ft).

It also has all wheel drive, can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) from the standstill in just 3.8 seconds. However, since this drag race features the rolling start, we reckon the Porsche Panamera will just rely on its muscle to take care of the business against this Porsche Boxster.

Speaking of which, this sporty 718 Boxster S is packing 350 PS (345 horsepower) and 420 Nm (309 lb-ft) of torque, which allows it to get from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, as long as you go for a PDK automatic version.

Granted, these two models never have and will never rival each other in any way. However, it is still interesting to see a difference in performance, which could come across as the little bit surprising to some.
