If there is one thing we can’t get enough of, it is flying race cars. Luckily for us, the World Rally Championship has plenty of them this year in a form of rally-ready hot hatchbacks.
The latest big jump comes from Rally Finland, and where Norwegian driver Mads Østberg sent his vehicle into orbit on the Ouninpohja stage.
Mads Østberg was able to launch his Fiesta WRC the incredible 50 meters (or around 164 feet) off a famous Yellow House Jump during a second running of the stage.
It wasn’t enough to break a record of 58 meters, and it was the longest distance spent airborne for any driver that weekend.
And judging by the video below, the jump looks absolutely terrifying. The crest is totally blind, with Mads Østberg having to commit completely to the notes to get the most speed and distance, hoping there is somewhere to land on the other side. Watch for yourself as the little Fiesta takes flight.
